The captain's house is surrounded by a wonderful garden, by a sea of flowers, twining plants, grapes and Mediterranean fruit. The garden is looked after by the owners, who live in the village from time to time. It is surrounded by an old wall which will give you some privacy. Experience what it is like to get up in the morning and to gather fruit like grapes, plums, figs as well as tangerines and pomegranates (in autumn) from the trees in the garden. To have breakfast on the sunny patio or to enjoy the starry sky without the interference of city lights.
The house itself is furnished simply. Some corners and walls are decorated with antiques. Three of the four bedrooms have got their own bathroom. The house has got four bathrooms altogether. This house is suitable for families with children. You will need a car. It is a house with a seafaring tradition that goes back generations.
For centuries one son of each generation went to sea. This is the reason why the villagers call the house "The Captain's House", thus expressing their respect.
The village is situated in the most narrow part of Peljesac. Therefore beaches on both sides can be reached quickly.
The nearest beach is about 3km away. In the garden there is a fireplace which you can use for grilling or for preparing traditional dishes like Sačura or Peka. (Put prepared vegetables or meat on the tray provided, push the hot coals to the sides, place the tray on the hot stones and close it with a "Sačura lid". Put hot coals on top of the lid and wait). You can bake bread in the same way.
