Villa Veli Vrh - Pelješac
If you want to stay in a typical Dalmatian farm house, the house "Veli Vrh" is the right choice for you.
This house is unique. Furnished in a way that is "just like home" it will offer you luxury quite unusual for a holiday house. Every detail is a real contemporary witness of the history of Dalmatia. Every piece of furniture, wall and carpet is from one or the eras this house has gone through. And it has gone through many. It was built in the 17th century and was converted and extended several times. The most important conversions took place at the beginning of the 20th century when the eldest son emigrated to the United States of America and won the lottery. On the ground floor of the house you can still admire the remains of an old olive oil mill. The mill was also used by the inhabitants of the surrounding villages and was - besides the wine growing - one of the income sources of the family.
2004 two friends got interested in the house and let it shine in new splendor. Putting all their energy, love and skills into the house, nobody could have realized the project as well as they did. In this house everything has been thought of. You can cook in the well- equipped kitchen, in the fireplace room over an open fire, or an expert of Dalmatian cuisine can cook for you. If requested, the cook will come to the house and cook delicious sea food in the fireplace room. There is no limit to the number of dishes the cook will be able to cook for you. Oysters and other kinds of mussels, many different fish dishes... You will be surprised by the diversity of the Dalmatian cuisine.
The house is located in an area in which one of the most popular Croatian wines, "Plavac", is grown. The wine can be bought directly from the winegrower's cellar which is only 100 m away from the house. The beaches are about 3 km away and are still an insider tip. They are mainly visited by the local inhabitants and by the tourists who know the area well.
From the windows of the house you have a view over the surrounding landscape and the vineyards. On the adjoining terraces and a roof terrace you will find enough space to enjoy your morning coffee or a romantic dinner underneath the stars while listening to the cicadas singing.
House description:
The house has a floor area of about 300 sqm and is spread over four floors. On the ground floor there is a big living room. On the first floor there is another living room, a fireplace room, a kitchen, a toilet and a room with a double bed which has its own bathroom. On the second floor there are three rooms with three bathrooms. Two rooms have got double beds, one room has two single beds. On the top floor there are several spare beds, from there you can reach the roof terrace.
Distances:
110 km to Dubrovnik.
150 km to Split (with ferry from Ploče to Trpanj).
Pelješac:
The area is famous for its salt from Ston and mussel cultivation areas. The water is clear and clean. In the interior of the peninsula there are many vineyards. The most popular wines from Peljesac are Dingac, Pošip and Plavac. Many winegrowers open their doors to the public. On Peljesac the tradition of wine and olive oil production is hundreds of years old. The peninsula has remained pristine. Little villages and fields, in which vegetables are grown, extend along the coastline and the road.

MagicOne of the most extraordianry, relaxing holiday I've had in long time. This house was made with one purpose,to satisfy your every need.Thick stone walls to keep you cool on those hot dalmation days and nights. The beach is a 5 minute drive crystal blue, natural beaches that can par with the best carribean beaches I've seen. I could go on and on about the actual house to put it all into one word, magic. One thing is for sure I know where my family and I are going to spend at least 7 days next summer.
