In a small room with a built- in bed is additional bed linen and towels. The 140 cm wide bed provides space for two additional people. The bed has a firmer mattress and may not be for everyone. House Kaštela is located in the Old Town of Dubrovnik by the sea. The house is made of stone and is centuries old, once a Jesuit monastery and home to students. In recent years the house was completely renovated. The interior of the house reflects the charm of the Old Town. Antique furniture is combined with modern. The house is furnished so people can live in it. You will enjoy the many fine details.
Bed linen, towels, books and toys for children are at your disposal. The house is 110 m2 with a kitchen, two bedrooms with double beds, two small bathrooms and a small room with a built-in bed 140 cm wide. You will come from Stradun to the house crossing 80-90 stairs that are spread across many smaller streets. The entire Old Town is a pedestrian zone and driving a car is strictly forbidden.
Less than a hundred meters from the house is a small passage through the wall and it leads to the crystal clear waters and an open bar with the best sea views in town. A few steps down, over rocks and a small staircase is an entrance into the sea where you can swim. A more suitable place for swimming is 200 meters away from the house. There are concrete rocks where you can sit and lie down. There are also stairs so you can enter the water. These passages through the walls are called Buza. They are located just below the magnificent city walls of Dubrovnik, which gives them a special atmosphere. Banje, a popular city beach, is only a 15 to 20 minute walk from the house. From the windows on one side you can see the city and its roofs and from a window at the other side you can see the garden and the alley.
Dear Maja and Carsten, I'd just like to say how much we enjoyed staying in your wonderful house. It really exceeded our expectations and you were quite right to recommend that we give it a try. Ela was also a great help – very friendly and willing to answer sms messages about restaurants, light fuses etc etc! We'll definitely recommend you and your properties to anybody we meet who is interested in travelling to Croatia. All the best, T & L

Feel at home in beautiful Dubrovnik. When we arrived, the old house welcomed us with fresh flowers on the dining table in the entrance hall. We soon discovered the joy of gathering at this table, relishing wonderful Mediterranean food from the nearby market - pomegranate, honey, yoghurt, ajvar, olives, bread, cake, coffee, wine... With sightseeing places nearby and the sea only a few minutes` walk from the house, we felt right at home in the heart of the beautiful old town of Dubrovnik.

We are a family of four from New Zealand. We stayed 10 days and we would thoroughly recommend staying here. The house was spacious, clean, bright and very comfortable. Being able to cook and wash our clothes was a big advantage but we also liked how we felt part of the old city. We walked on the old cobblestones, we wandered 2 minutes to the Buza Bar for a drink and to take in the view, we could look out the window over the orange roofed houses. Such a great location, and a wonderful welcome awaited us when we arrived with fresh fruit and drink. Thank you for an enjoyable experience and special family memories.

Hello Maja, We enjoyed our vacation. We can't thank you enough for a wonderful, wonderful stay in Dubrovnik. Each day, we lost ourselves in the city and found our way back to your place within the city walls. It was great fun. Thanks.

Since I came back from Dubrovnik I have been telling anyone who will listen to put it on their bucket list! 16 Od Kastela is perfect for this as you are right inside all the action! We took a young family (5 and under) and our parents along and it was perfect for this - we took over the top floor and the in-laws had the first floor, each with a bathroom to avoid queues! It is very beautifully and simply furnished and the kitchen has everything you will need, but you will probably end up eating out! Maja was an excellent host, who answered all my emails promptly and tried to help out where she could. Ela was a wonderful help, too. We spent most of our time on the beach, which was a 15 min walk with little legs! Od Kastela is a perfect bolt hole to explore such an amazing city.

I wanted to say how much my two sisters and I enjoyed being in Dubrovnik and staying in Od Kastela. The house worked really well for us and was very restful and comfortable, and it was lovely to be immersed in the Old City. Ela was very helpful making the taxi and porter arrangements, and otherwise we did not need anything. So thank you very much. Will recommend you to any who want to stay in the Old City. Best regards, C.

We really enjoyed our stay in the beautiful house at Od Kastela in Dubrovnik. Both, the city and the house, were more than we hoped for. We got a good start with the ordered taxi, and Ela meeting us at the gate of the old town and showing us the way to the house.
With closeness to beaches, restaurants and culture our holiday became an adventure. Although I work professional with culture, I've seen more art and concerts during our sex days in Dubrovnik than during the last sex months in Stockholm! Your comfortable beds gave us the needed rest to cope with all activities. The house was perfect for two old friends who wanted to spend the holiday together and still get some privacy since we had access to a floor each (bedroom and bathroom).
